    Motherhood changes everything. While it can bring love and joy, it can also bring overwhelm, loneliness, and a sense of losing yourself.

    You may feel like you “should” be coping, but inside you’re exhausted.
    You might miss your old self and wonder who you are now.

    Or perhaps you’re holding so much for everyone else that there’s no space left for you.

    Therapy offers you a place to pause, breathe, and be fully heard.

    Why Therapy?

    1:1 therapy gives you time that is yours alone, a space where:

    • You don’t have to pretend you’re okay.

    • Your feelings aren’t judged or dismissed.

    • You can explore your thoughts, struggles, and hopes with honesty.

    It’s not about “fixing” you, because you are not broken. It’s about understanding your experience, rediscovering your voice as it is now, and reconnecting with yourself.

    My Approach

    I am a mother, and a psychotherapist trained in humanistic, person-centred therapy. Alongside this, I bring matrescence-informed insight from eight years of study into the identity shifts of motherhood.

    Together, we might explore:

    • Postnatal distress and overwhelm

    • Identity loss and change through matrescence

    • The “good mother” myth and perfectionism

    • Guilt, shame, and self-silencing

    • Relationships, intimacy, and boundaries

    • Anxiety, low mood, or feeling “not yourself”

    You set the pace. Some weeks you may simply need space to offload. Other weeks, we might look deeper at patterns, stories, and the shifts you want to make.

    • Format: Weekly, 55-minute sessions (in-person or online)

    • Fee: €90 per session

    • Location: Skerries / Zoom option

    • Availability: Limited morning spaces.

    We’re often told motherhood should be all joy, love, and bliss. But what about the other side?

    The loneliness. The overwhelm. The sense of losing yourself.

    What if nothing is “wrong” with you?

    What if these feelings are not signs of failure, but signs of transformation?

    This is matrescence, the profound psychological, emotional, and social shift of becoming a mother. And you don’t have to go through it alone.

    This Group is for You if…

    • You’re within the first year of motherhood.

    • You feel “different” but don’t yet have words for it.

    • You miss your old self and wonder who you are now.

    • You feel the pressure to be the “perfect mother” and it’s exhausting.

    • You long for honest conversation and connection with other mothers who truly get it.

    Each week we gather in circle to pause, reflect, share, and learn.

    Weeks 4–6: The Inner Shifts

    • Identity in flux: “Who am I now?”

    • The good mother myth and perfectionism

    • Your body, intimacy, and selfhood

    Weeks 7–9: The Outer World

    • Changing relationships with partners, friends, and family

    • The weight of societal expectations

    • Why support and community matter

    Weeks 10–12: Integration & Return

    • Rediscovering your voice

    • Living in alignment with your values

    • Self-compassion in daily life

    • Closing ritual to honour the journey

    Why Group Work?

    There is something profoundly healing about sitting with other mothers and realising: it’s not just me.

    In group you will:

    • Experience solidarity and shared understanding.

    • Learn from each other’s stories as much as your own.

    • Be witnessed, and witness others, in ways that deepen compassion and connection.

    • Investment: €450 (payable upfront; in 3 instalments of €150 or other agreed upon payment plan)

Brave

  • Motherhood may be the greatest love story of your life.

    But it can also leave you feeling unseen, silenced, and unsure of who you are anymore.

    Perhaps it’s been a year, or several, since you became a mother. The initial fog has lifted, but the disorientation lingers. You find yourself asking:

    Is this all there is?
    Where did I go?
    What happened to the woman I used to be?

    This is the reckoning of matrescence.

    And BRAVE is where you face it, together with others who feel the same.

    • Exploring anger, desire, and boundaries

    • Re-writing your maternal identity

    Weeks 10–12: Integration & Courage

    • Building a new story of motherhood and self

    • Embodying bravery in everyday life

    • Closing ritual: honouring what has been lost, and what has been found
